The Red Light District is where Amsterdam began, and it still shows: gabled houses that go back to the eleventh century, narrow alleys opening onto water, boats and swans on the canals. This self-guided walk runs on your own phone and puts reportage-style street photography at the centre — the people of Amsterdam as much as the architecture. Walk the tour at your own pace, stop wherever the light is good, and finish ten minutes from Felix Meritis with the oldest part of the city properly photographed.
