For most visitors, start by checking a Jubilee line journey to North Greenwich. Decide how you will get back after the show, then check your ticket’s arena entrance and leave large bags behind. Driving and river travel can also work, but each needs a separate return plan.
This guide is for events in The O2 arena at North Greenwich. Indigo at The O2, the roof climb and other activities have their own admission arrangements. Venue and transport information checked on 4 October 2026.
Get to North Greenwich
North Greenwich is the nearest Underground station, on the Jubilee line. Use that station name in your journey planner. The venue address is The O2, Peninsula Square, London SE10 0DX. Official travel information.

Plan your outward and return journeys for the actual date in TfL’s journey planner. Check engineering works again on the day, including any line you need after changing from the Jubilee line. A familiar route may be different at weekends.
Allow time from the station to the correct arena entrance, through screening and on to your seat. Reaching North Greenwich at the advertised show time is too late a target.
For Oyster, contactless, fare caps and airport connections, use our London transport guide. This guide focuses on the event visit rather than repeating London-wide fare tables.
If you are driving
The O2 directs arena and indigo event visitors to Car Park 1. Car Parks 2, 3 and 4 are for non-event visits and use hourly tariffs. Buying food or shopping before a show does not turn an event visit into non-event parking. Parking directions and tariffs.
Select the correct event date in the official parking booking flow and check the total and conditions before paying. The venue currently gives two different pre-booking cutoffs, so book more than 24 hours ahead if possible; treat that as planning advice, not a guaranteed deadline. Same-day spaces depend on availability. Official parking operator information.
Shopping and cinema validation offers have their own car-park and purchase conditions. They should not be used to budget for arena event parking. The nearby North Greenwich station car park is operated separately from The O2, so venue validation does not automatically apply there.
Allow extra time to leave by road. The venue currently warns of local roadworks and post-event delays. A premium or suite ticket does not include parking as standard: check for an actual parking entitlement in your package. Parking questions answered.
Drop-off and collection
The signed general drop-off and pickup point is in Car Park 1, off Millennium Way. For a booked car, agree the permitted meeting point with the driver rather than simply sharing the arena building pin. London black taxis also have a rank at North Greenwich bus station.
Confirm a separate accessible drop-off arrangement if you need it. The venue describes its signed accessible drop-off as approximately 150 metres from the main entrance, so it may still involve a walk or wheelchair journey.
Tickets and the right entrance
Open your mobile ticket before leaving and follow your ticket provider’s app instructions. AXS Mobile ID uses a changing barcode, so a screenshot is not a substitute for the live ticket. Keep the barcode private and charge your phone.
Check the entrance on your ticket. Entering The O2 complex and entering the arena are different steps; follow the signs for your assigned arena entrance. Standing arrangements can change, so do not assume every standing ticket uses Entrance E. Allow time for security checks. Arena security and entry.
Recheck door and performance times on the day. Late entry can depend on a suitable break. Once your arena ticket has been scanned, the general rule is no re-admission, so have dinner outside the arena beforehand. The arena is cashless. Before-you-go information.
Bags and luggage
Bring at most one small bag, no larger than A4. The venue also excludes bag types including backpacks, travel cases and laptop bags, so size alone is not the whole rule. Check the current bag policy.
Large-bag storage is outside the main entrance, with a standard charge of £10 per bag; the current policy also offers complimentary bag drop for American Express cardholders. Bags are searched before acceptance. Ask the desk for that night’s collection deadline and collect promptly after the show: the venue’s pages currently disagree on whether storage closes 30 minutes or one hour afterwards.
Do not confuse this with the limited cloakroom for general-admission standing ticket holders, which only takes policy-compliant small bags and coats. If a fast departure matters, leaving luggage at your accommodation avoids a second collection queue.
Make the return plan before entering
Tube: the Jubilee line has Night Tube services on Friday and Saturday nights, subject to disruption. On other nights, check the last useful departure and every onward connection. Even on a Night Tube night, your final train, bus or airport service may finish earlier. TfL Night Tube information.
River: use North Greenwich Pier, and distinguish an ordinary timetabled boat from the special post-show service. The operator runs Post-show Express only on selected event dates. It departs 20 minutes after the show and is not recommended for spectators in blocks 400 and above because reaching the pier may take too long. Standard single, return and Hop-on Hop-off tickets are not accepted on that special service. Check your exact date and ticket before relying on it. Post-show service information.
Cable car: it can suit an outward trip from the Royal Docks, but check its closing time and weather status before choosing it for the return. It does not run all night. TfL operating hours.
If you have bag storage to collect, include that stop in the exit plan. Avoid a departure that only works if you leave your seat, collect your bag and reach a platform or pier without delay.
Accessibility
North Greenwich provides step-free access, but check the whole journey, including interchanges and lift status. TfL’s planner lets you request full step-free access.
At the arena, confirm that your booked seat suits your needs: some step-free rows require a transfer from a wheelchair, while accessible platforms depend on the event layout. For changes or access questions, contact access@theo2.co.uk in advance. Blue Badge event parking is a separate booking option; the badge holder must be travelling in the vehicle. Quick questions
Does every show finish at 11pm? No. Use the current event timings and leave flexibility for getting out. A typical finish time cannot guarantee an onward connection.
Can I bring food bought inside The O2 complex? Food and drink bought outside the arena cannot normally enter it. Contact the venue in advance about medical or religious requirements.
Is there always a boat after the show? No. Check the ordinary timetable or a confirmed post-show sailing for your event date. A daytime river ticket does not establish a place on the special service.
Will a map tell me my entrance? It can help you find an entrance once you know its name. Your actual ticket and current event instructions determine which one to use.
