Checked on 3 October 2026. Fares are in euros; times are local to Paris.
For Charles de Gaulle, start with the RER B. For Orly, start with metro line 14. For Beauvais, plan a longer coach journey and a separate trip from the coach stop to your hotel. The right choice depends as much on your Paris address, bags and arrival time as on the airport.
Choose the journey that fits your arrival
- CDG to central Paris: RER B suits travellers staying near Gare du Nord, Châtelet–Les Halles, Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame or Denfert-Rochereau, or making a straightforward rail connection
- Orly to central Paris: line 14 is particularly convenient for Gare de Lyon, Châtelet and Saint-Lazare
- CDG on a tighter budget: express bus 9517 to Saint-Denis Pleyel, followed by the metro, costs less but adds a change and exposure to road traffic
- Beauvais: Aérobus A01 to Porte Maillot is the main comparison to make; A04 to La Villette can suit a north-eastern Paris address
- Several travellers or awkward luggage: compare an official taxi’s whole-car price with the group’s rail fares and the final walk
The ticket for CDG and Orly rail journeys
The Paris Region Airports Ticket, officially Ticket Paris Région <> Aéroports, costs €14 per person, one way, in 2026. It covers CDG on RER B and Orly on line 14 or Orlyval, with metro, train and RER connections within two hours of first validation while remaining inside the network.
That means you can change from RER B to the metro without buying another rail ticket. Leaving the station to eat and resuming later is a new journey. A bus or tram connection needs its own valid ticket or pass; the airport ticket does not cover either.
The ordinary €2.55 Métro–Train–RER ticket excludes the airport rail accesses. Buying an “all zones” city product does not automatically solve this: Navigo Jour costs €12.30 but excludes CDG by RER B, Orly airport on line 14 and Orlyval.
Children aged four to under ten qualify for the €7 airport ticket under the children’s fare rules. Beauvais uses a different child age band and fare system.
Phone or physical card
Load the airport ticket onto a compatible phone or a Navigo Easy card, which costs €2 before fares. Each traveller needs a separate valid card or ticket-bearing medium. A single physical Easy card cannot be tapped repeatedly to take a family through.
Airport tickets and Métro–Train–RER tickets cannot coexist on the same Easy card. Île-de-France Mobilités recommends a separate medium when these products conflict. Check the app before buying city tickets in advance. Tickets loaded onto a physical card are not mirrored onto your phone: use the medium you loaded.
When a pass makes more sense
Navigo Semaine for zones 1–5 costs €32.40. It includes CDG on RER B and Orly on line 14, but excludes Orlyval. Its week runs Monday to Sunday, rather than seven days from purchase. The current week is sold only through Thursday; from Friday, sales are for the following week.
Two €14 airport rail trips already total €28, so this pass deserves a look when both transfers and several city rides fall in the same week. Use a compatible phone or a €5 Navigo Découverte card, which requires your name and photo; Navigo Easy does not hold this weekly pass. A Friday arrival does not turn it into a Friday-to-Thursday product.
Paris Visite includes CDG, Orly and Orlyval. Adult prices are €30.60 for one day, €45.40 for two, €63.80 for three and €78 for five consecutive calendar days. A late-evening first use consumes that calendar day. Compare your actual rides before paying for unlimited travel. Neither this pass nor the CDG/Orly airport ticket covers the Beauvais Aérobus.
Charles de Gaulle to Paris
The RER B ride takes around 30–45 minutes between the airport and central Paris, depending on the station and service. This operator estimate starts with the transport journey, not your aircraft landing.
CDG has two RER stations. Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 is at Roissypôle, serving Terminal 3 on foot and Terminal 1 via the free CDGVAL shuttle. Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2–TGV serves the Terminal 2 complex. Terminal 2G requires an additional shuttle connection. The station called “CDG 1” is not inside Terminal 1; this is worth knowing before comparing routes. See the terminal connections.
RoissyBus to Opéra ended on 1 March 2026. Its practical alternative is express 9517 between Roissypôle and Saint-Denis Pleyel, where line 14 continues into Paris. Bought as separate standard tickets, bus plus metro costs €4.60: €2.05 Bus–Tram plus €2.55 Métro–Train–RER, excluding any new card.
Allow for the bus wait and change. The timetable introduced on 24 August 2026 includes weekday Roissypôle–Pleyel journeys of roughly 40–60 minutes. The earlier launch publicity’s 30-minute figure is too optimistic for many departures. Buses 350 and 351 are other low-cost options for addresses near Porte de la Chapelle or Nation, but their longer routes make them a less obvious default.
Orly to Paris
Line 14 puts Châtelet about 25 minutes from Orly by metro. Choose it for a hotel near the line or an easy onward connection. OrlyBus to Denfert-Rochereau stopped on 3 March 2025.
RER B via Antony and Orlyval can make sense for accommodation along the RER B’s southern corridor. It involves a change and needs an airport ticket or a product that specifically includes Orlyval. A weekly Navigo pass is not enough for that shuttle. Orlyval runs daily from 06:00 to a last departure at 23:35.
Tram T7 provides a cheaper, less direct alternative via Villejuif–Louis Aragon and metro line 7. Standard tram and metro tickets total €4.60. Consider it when the route fits your address and you have time, rather than simply choosing the smallest fare for a luggage-heavy arrival.
Beauvais to Paris
Beauvais has a separate transfer system. Aérobus currently lists A01 to Porte Maillot and A04 to La Villette. An A01 adult ticket costs €17.90 one way or €29.90 return online; on-site prices are €18 and €35. Children aged 4–11 pay €9.90 one way online, while the on-site fare is the adult price.
A04 is €15.90 one way online and requires a particular departure; it has no on-site ticket sales. Choose by your onward journey, not the €2 difference alone. Both routes’ tickets are non-refundable and non-changeable.
For A01, the current route page lists usual departures around 03:00–19:30 from Porte Maillot and 07:30–23:30 from the airport, with airport coaches waiting for the day’s final delayed flights. Confirm your dated departure. A late coach arrival in Paris can outlast the metro.
For planning, allow at least 90 minutes for the coach leg, with more for traffic, boarding and the onward journey. This is a planning allowance, not a guaranteed runtime. Aérobus recommends an A01 departure at least 3½ hours before your flight, plus time to board. Add the journey from your accommodation to Porte Maillot separately.
Official taxis and luggage
For a direct official Paris taxi journey between the airport and an address within Paris, the 2026 fixed fares are:
- CDG: €56 to the Right Bank or €65 to the Left Bank
- Orly: €45 to the Right Bank or €36 to the Left Bank
These are per vehicle, in either direction. They do not extend to every suburb, Disneyland or Beauvais. Reservation supplements and a €5.50 supplement per passenger from the fifth passenger can apply. Four adults’ CDG rail fares total €56, matching the Right Bank taxi base fare before applicable extras. Vehicle capacity and luggage space still matter.
Rail suits bags you can manage through the whole journey. RATP permits luggage you can carry yourself without obstructing other passengers. Line 14 is step-free, but a change onto another metro line may not be. Check lifts and the entire accessible route; RER boarding assistance may be needed. Aérobus asks wheelchair users to arrange assistance at least 48 hours ahead and lists one wheelchair space per coach. Large bags and folded pushchairs go in its luggage hold.
Early flights and late arrivals
As an indicative baseline, RATP lists CDG-to-Paris RER B services around 04:50–23:50. Line 14 starts around 05:30; the metro’s general closing window is around 01:15, later on Friday and Saturday nights. Those closing times are not the last departure from your station. For the RER B, use the dated timetable; for every route, check the direction and final connection.
For 9517, the current timetable starts from Roissypôle at 05:25 on weekdays and 05:20 on weekends/holidays, with a final regular departure at 00:15. Reaching Pleyel does not guarantee an onward metro connection.
Current works warning: RATP’s October bulletin lists weekday RER B closures from 22:45 between Châtelet and the CDG/Mitry branches, 6 October–10 November 2026. Replacement buses change the journey. Recheck the dated planner rather than relying on the usual last train.
Finally, separate three clocks: the ride itself; the complete terminal-to-hotel journey, including walking, waits and changes; and the airline’s required check-in or boarding deadline. For a connection, add immigration, baggage collection and recheck where applicable. Entry permission depends on your documents and itinerary. No advertised train time establishes a safe flight connection or a worthwhile airport layover.
